EDRO III Shipwreck-Beauty In Decay

This boat is called the EDRO III Freetown. I took these in august 2013 and this was near the sea caves in Paphos, Cyprus. It was built in 1966.

It was shipwrecked on December 8th 2011. It is 83 meters long and 2,517 tons, it ran aground due to stormy weather. It had a cargo of plasterboard.

The strong winds caused it to drift of course, then it stuck a rock about 10 miles off of the shore of Paphos and became disabled.

7 of the crew were lifter off by helicopter and the Captain and Chief Engineer stayed on board.

A short clip on the EDRO III

I'm gonna lay of the beauty in decay posts for a bit and post a load of makeup tips. And also a couple tips on drawing portraits (ways to get the eyes the same shape, how to map it out etc) and everything I've been taught from other artists and tattoo artists.

Land Of The Kings-Beauty In Decay

"Land Of The Kings"
Hotel resort, Cyprus.
I took them with a digital camera
No editing.

As soon as you walk into the remains of this hotel, there are 2 pillars holding up what is left of the roof. On the still in tact sides of the pillars there is graffiti, mostly tags and penises. There were still tiny bits of rock from where the pillar had crumbled down on the floor which suggests this was quite recent, it stood on a faded salmon colour floor that used to be a  bright red, and then my uncles silver car  is in the background ruining the picture. Great one, Uncle Martain.

This was at the very front, there weren't any lights on the other side that were still in tact.  I couldn't get behind the decaying wooden doors, but the rooms behind them were just black, and empty, apart from ransom assets like overturned pool tables and lights. The Bit behind the lights in the picture used to be tiled and done up with massive statues.. Now there is only a platform where one of the statues was and the crumbled leg of another. I took a picture of it but my uncles foot was in it. Good one, Uncle Martain.

This was on the side of the open middle part of the hotel. It is completely empty. The once red tiles are now faded and barely coloured, with greenery overgrowing them and slanting them awkwardly, which i slipped over quite alot as I was wearing stupid girl shoes. I couldn't get behind the doors or see what was through them.
This part of the hotel has decayed so much the insides of the bricks are starting to show and the cement has come off of a lot of  them.
The front of the resort. It is still repeating that faded salmon colour that was once  bright red. The white is stained. I like how the blue sky brings out the colours more in this.
This was outside the swimming pool, the swimming pool was fenced off, which adds to the picture! On the other side of this wall were steps going to what was probably a changing room. Unfortunately I couldn't go down because all the junk and clutter was jamming the door. Unfortunately because of the humidity my lense was foggy without me realising for alot of the pictures including my picture of the stairs.
What the resort looked like around 2004 ish. Ooh fancy! You might think. But this hotel was shocking. When reading reviews, one person found a needle under the bed! (and not a knitting needle!) Other people found crumbs in there bed, rubbish at the bottom of the pool, someone even complained about ants in their shower! This hotel even appeared on a documentary!

In my next post i'll have some pictures i took of a shipwreck, I have yet to research about it but it looks hella creepy! There is also a lifeboat. And the wreck is in a gorgeous blue sea.
